I am an artist working mainly in watercolours. I love the unpredictability of the medium. It gives me the opportunity to explore areas of the work that I might not have at first thought of, often taking me in other directions. My main interest is in old buildings, the textures of crumbling stone and paintwork, they  all have a story to tell. My subjects mostly come from painting trips abroad, generally European countries and where I feel a strong connection to their culture and to the western tradition. I have exhibited extensively over the years with various groups including The Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours, The Royal Inst. Of Oil Painters, Royal West of England Academy, Oxford Art Society, (I am a former Chairman), West Ox Arts, The Fosseway Group, as well as having many one man shows. I first exhibited in 1973.
